Class from Daviess County High School Finalists in National Contest
It is always great to hear about local students doing well. I recently heard about a group of Daviess County High School students who are finalists in a national contest.
Cindy Stilwell’s AP U.S. Government class was selected as one of 10 finalists out of 354 entries in a nationwide contest. The contest was sponsored by We Are Teachers, which is a virtual community for educators. The contest, “Stand Tall: One Brave Thing” asked students to create a Pinterest board showing how the spirit of leadership demonstrated by President Lincoln lives on today.
As a finalist, the class is in the running for a trip to Washington, D.C. The finalist who receives the most online votes by December 13 will receive the grand prize.
