One of the many things affected by the government shutdown is college athletics regarding military based schools. Several football games' fate is expected to be announced Thursday as to whether the boys will be playing or not on Saturday.

It appears that football isn't the only sport being interrupted by the shutdown.  Wednesday's scheduled men's soccer match between Manhattanville College and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy has been postponed. But, the Sports Information Director, Steve Sheridan, didn't take the news too well.

He released possibly the funniest press release ever! Here's an excerpt:

Due to the U.S. government's inability to do things that most Americans do on a monthly basis – namely, paying their bills on time – Wednesday's scheduled men's soccer match between Manhattanville and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy has been postponed.
