I go to Kroger. And I love the U-Scan--you know, the device that lets you check yourself out. They have similar self-service at Wal-mart. It's convenient. It's fast. And, sometimes...it's a nuisance.

I mean, if a flea lands on the platform where you've placed your paid-for groceries, the machine freaks out because the weight is all wrong, an attendant is notified, and you're cuffed and taken away. Just kidding. But you know what I mean. But some stores are doing away with the self-service programs in favor of more or better customer service. Interestingly, this story arrives at a time when I've been going through the full service check-out line more. I guess we're somehow on the same wavelength. Sometimes I just want the customer service. Clearly, I'm not alone.
