It does not matter if you golf like me. It only matters if your club somehow connects to the ball. You see, it's all about the programs that benefit Owensboro youth.

Yep, if you can golf at all, or maybe even if you can't, the Owensboro Police Department's Crime Prevention Unit cordially invites you to the D.A.R.E. Golf Scramble, Friday, August 31st, at Ben Hawes Golf Course.

That's a good omen.

It was at Ben Hawes where I performed the best golf swing of my entire life. I don't play golf, but I go to the driving range from time to time.

Anyway, I digress.

The scramble will begin at 8AM and all the proceeds will benefit Crime Prevention Unit programs that reach out to the youth in our community. They include D.A.R.E., Juvenile Diversion Program, Explorer Post 766, Character Counts, and Camp K.O.P.S.

There will be prizes for first and second as well as longest drive and longest putt. Lunch and snacks will be provided.

It's gonna be a great day, so come on out to the D.A.R.E. Golf Scramble August 31st and tee up for a good cause.
