Dave Spencer Makes a Classic Brooklyn NY Beverage — the Egg Cream [VIDEO]

I've heard about "egg creams" my entire life, off and on. I think the first time was in the holiday classic It's a Wonderful Life. If not, it was in some other old movie.

It came up again, recently, when I was watching an old episode of The West Wing on Netflix.

As you saw, it's very simple and, really, could be called a chocolate soda, except you don't use ice creams in egg creams.

And by the way, as I stated in the video, there are no EGGS in egg creams. I did some digging and learned that very early recipes--and more complicated ones, at that--incorporated eggs. Nowadays, they are not used, nor are they necessary.
