Recently, I was talking to a friend of mine who lives in Ohio and their electricity had recently gone out. So he'd heard there was a way to make a homemade lantern using everyday household items.

So he did it.

And it worked. And it got him about three hours of light.

Naturally, I had to try. I've sort of become the go-to guy for homespun science experiments here at the station, but, hey, it's fun.
