As you can imagine, I hear new music all the time. As you can also imagine, it's not all good. And THAT'S what makes the good songs even better.

I'd say we have a fair amount of new country music that I'm digging right now. "Carolina" by Parmalee, "Wasting All These Tears" by Cassadee Pope, and "Night Train" by Jason Aldean are off-the-top-of-my-head standouts at the moment. Good stuff.

But, with this blog, I'm going out of my way to do something I seldom do. I am, quite simply, going to GUSH about the brand new song by Thomas Rhett called "It Goes Like This."

It's amazing. And it's pretty simple. The guy likes the girl so much, he's inspired to write a song about her.

Honestly, the lyrics aren't what sell this thing. It's Rhett's delivery. It's the haunting twilight-in-the-car-with-the-windows-down minor chords. It all comes together as an early frontrunner for my favorite song of 2013, which I will list in December.

I'm predicting this will be Thomas Rhett's breakthrough hit. The last two hit the top 20, but this has--at the very least--top 5 written all over it.

If you'll excuse me, I think I want to hear it again.
