According to Daviess County Public Schools, Karli Sanders earned her second consecutive state championship in the category of Language Arts with a perfect score on the test. That's right!  She got a PERFECT score and that's something that has never been accomplished before.  Academic team head coach Ann Koshy said, “This is a historical win in the Governor’s Cup as this is the first time the champion has earned a perfect score on the test, which includes 50 questions, and both sets of tie-breakers with 10 questions each. This has never been done before in 30 years of competition.”  Way to go, Karli!!

And Karli's state championship win wasn't the only one the Panthers claimed!  Quick Recall team members Evan Clark, Mason Clark, Jasmyne Post, Karli Sanders, Max Smith, Stephen Ward, Will Boultinghouse and Eli Cooper captured the state title in the Quick Recall competition!  And they conquered a handful of formidable teams in the process, defeating North Oldham, West Jessamine, DuPont Manual and Woodford County high schools in the playoffs.

Team and individual results put DCHS in third place in the overall Governor's Cup final results, which is the highest placing of any high school team from the Daviess County area in the history of the Governor’s Cup competition.

Other individual results were:
Social Studies – Evan Clark placed sixth and Stephen Ward finished 24th.
Arts and Humanities – Max Smith was seventh, Karli Sanders 15th and Jasmyne Post was 27th.
Science – Mason Clark finished seventh and Stephen Ward was 20th.
Mathematics – Mason Clark finished 10th and Eli Cooper finished 27th.

DCHS senior Ashley Filbeck competed in the Individual Future Problem Solving competition. Results of this competition will not be announced until later this spring.

Head coach of the team is Ann Koshy.  She is aided by assistants Chuck Hayden, Amy Chifici and Steve Easley.

Congratulations to everyone involved!
