Daviess County High School, home to 2016's #1 archery team in the nation, is set to host the regional archery tournament this weekend.  And over 20 teams and clubs, from Paducah to Ashland, Kentucky, are scheduled to compete.

The Western Kentucky S3DA Regional Indoor Archery Tournament is Friday, January 13th and Saturday, January 14th, at the Daviess County Fairgrounds in Philpot.  The Panthers are the host team for the meet.

According to an official press release from DCPS, nearly 200 students representing teams from across the state are expected to compete. Local schools that will be represented include Daviess County, Apollo and Owensboro Catholic high schools; Burns, College View and Daviess County middle schools; and Audubon and Southern Oaks elementary schools.

Friday, Jan. 13th-  6pm

Saturday, Jan 14th- 8am and 10:30 am and 1 pm

If you plan to attend the event, you should enter at the main gate of the Daviess Country Fairgrounds (the Bittel Hall entrance) off Kentucky 54.

Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for students younger than 18 years of age.

During the event, competitors will be shooting at the National Field Archery Association indoor 5-spot target face. Competitors will shoot six ends of official scoring, five arrows per end, for a maximum possible score of 300.

The West Region Championship, hosted by DCHS, is one of three regional events that will be held in Kentucky this year. The state tournament will be held in Madisonville and the national tournament will take place in Cincinnati.
