DCHS Student Council Hosting May Day 5K to Benefit St. Benedict

The Sixth Annual May Day 5K sponsored by the Daviess County High School Student Council is all set for Saturday, May 16th.

Registration will begin, that day, at 7AM at the DCHS football stadium. The race will start at 8.

Until May 12th, the registration fee is only $15. It will go up to $20 after the 12th. Early registrants will receive a commemorative T-shirt.

Participants will also be able to register on the day of the race, when shirts will be given away subject to availability.

At the end of the race, medals will be handed out in 12 age categories for male and female runners. Trophies will be awarded to the top three in the overall winners, masters winners, and grandmasters winners categories.

In order to build camaraderie, organizers of the race would like to extend special invitations to sports teams and faculty groups.

Proceeds from the race will support the St. Benedict homeless shelter in Owensboro.
