Dolly Parton is asking for a Christmas miracle. The country superstar has made a public plea to fans, seeking a kidney donor for her longtime friend and attorney Jerry Edelstein.

In a video message Parton explains how fans can help. She’s teamed with the Flood Sisters Kidney Foundation of America and Public Good to find a donor with Type O blood. “Jerry and I have been friends for several decades now and he’s one of the finest people in the whole world,” Parton says.

“As the holiday season is upon us, one of my wishes is for a new kidney for Jerry. I am not a suitable donor but in the spirit of giving, please go to PublicGood.com/FloodSisters and see how you can help. Please do because he’s so sweet and precious! "

The Flood Sisters Kidney Foundation of America was started by three sisters determined to find a kidney donor for their father. Their mission is to educate people on alternative ways to find a donor, aside from national lists and dialysis. Edelstein has been in search of a kidney for years, but found out in recent months he was in renal failure. In addition to Parton, his other clients include rocker Jon Bon Jovi.
