It didn't take long for UK coach John Calipari to be swayed by 6-6 wing player Dontaie Allen. See for yourself.

Allen verbally committed to the Cats on Thursday. He will be UK's first in-state commit since Madison Central's Dominique Hawkins and Bullitt East's Derek Willis back in 2013.

Allen will be a senior at Pendleton County, mascot is also Wildcats, which is part of the Cincinnati-Middletown OH, OH-KY-IN metropolitan statistical area.

Dontaie had scholarship offers from Florida, Auburn, Western Kentucky and Louisville, Xavier, Vanderbilt, and West Virginia were all considered to be top contenders.

He averaged 31.9 points and 11.4 rebounds per game as a junior. He spent the spring and summer playing with the M.A.T.T.S travel team; he was the leading scorer at a top recruiting event in Georgia in July where Calipari first saw him.

Allen will join five-star point guard Tyrese Maxley as the second commitment to UK's class of 2019. He will be eligible to sign with Kentucky on November 14th.
