In its early stages, it may have no symptoms. It is mostly preventable. A screening could save your life. I'm talking about colon cancer.

My grandmother had it and survived it. My sister had it just last year and is currently doing fine. And with this family history, I've had my colonoscopy and I'm good.

March is National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month and tomorrow is Dress In Blue Day.

Here is Madeline Abramson, the wife of Lieutenant Governor Jerry Abramson and the honorary chair of Dress in Blue Day:

The Capitol Dome in Frankfort will be blue starting tomorrow and through March 10th. Plus, there will be a special banner with photos from local Dress in Blue activities around the commonwealth. Those images will be part of a special display in the Capitol Annex Tunnel.

You are invited to participate in a Dress in Blue photo contest on the Facebook page for the Kentucky Cancer Program - West. For more information and to find out about screenings, visit www.kycancerprogram.org.

And don't forget...Dress in Blue this Friday!
