Residents on the west side of Owensboro heard back-to-back electrical explosions this morning. 

Crews from OMU responded after the first explosion, which occurred just before 4am behind a residence between South York and North York Streets in Owensboro.

I live on the west side, was sound asleep, but heard the first explosion.  It actually woke me up. I thought, "What in the heck was that?" Of course, after the ice storm of 2009, I think we

Crews responded to repair a transformer, but minutes after they left, there was a second explosion and they had to immediately return to the scene.  According to company officials, the cause of the explosions was indeed a faulty transformer and additional workers have been called in to assist with the repair.
