East View Suns Meet the Stars – Real Ones!

East View Elementary School is hosting an astronomy night titled “Suns Meet the Stars” tomorrow night at 7:00. The event will take place on the hill on the school campus, 6104 Kentucky 405.  Facilitated by science instructor Dennis Millay, a.k.a. Mr. D, and led by students in the East View Elementary School Student Technology and Leadership Program, East View families and friends are invited to take a guided walk across the stars, using iPads and astronomy applications to accomplish this. “We will also have telescopes for deep space viewing,” Mr. D said.

Families are encouraged to bring their own binoculars or telescopes too. The event will take place on the school’s new nature trail and outdoor seating area, which was constructed as an Eagle Scout project by Jacob Wedding.

Jacob and his family will be at this event and he will be recognized for his contribution to the East View Elementary School campus. Candlelight tours of the nature trail will be offered and hot chocolate will be served to all those in attendance.
