This year just seems to be flying by! Soon the summer temperatures will b here and the kids will be out of school. So I thought I would pass along some information I just found about a different type of summer day camp.

The Edge Ice Center is holding a summer camp this year. Now from what I have read, the camp will run just like a normal day camp, but it will focus on ice sports! Children will be placed in groups depending on their interest in the following ice sports: basic skating skills, figure skating skills, or hockey skills. The instructors will be from both the Youth Hockey Association and the Owensboro Figure Skating Club. There will be a number of competitions and scrimmages to help the campers develop their skills and have fun!

The camp begins May 20th and runs through August 2, opening at 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Camp will not be held on Memorial Day or the 4th of July).

Here is some additional information you will need about the camp from the Owensboro Parks and Recreation Department:

The Registration Fee is $27 non-refundable for each child. Advance payment for the first week of camp is due at the time of registration. Parents will be required to fill out release and medical forms prior to the first day of camp. The weekly Fee is $80 per child per whole week; or $65 per half week (3 days or fewer). A minimum $20 weekly fee will be charged, regardless of attendance. The camp will include breakfast, lunch, snacks, camp shirt and bag.

The Last day to register for the camp is May 10th. For more information you can call 270-687-8700 or you can click here.
