I have a soft spot for all things Irish. Simply put, my name "Erin" means Ireland. You've heard the saying "Erin Go Bragh"? It literally means "Ireland Forever". Fancy, huh? Something else cool and Irish about me, my Dad's s paternal grandfather immigrated to American as a child from Donegal, Ireland during the Potato Famine.

Aside from all of that, one of my favorite Irish movies is one my Mom introduced me to, Disney's 1959 classic Darby O'Gill and the Little People.

Yes, before Sean Connery was cast as James Bond, he played Michael McBride, the beloved of Darby's daughter Katie. Of course, this movie is a lot of fun and a little scary at times, hello? The Banshee??? Who doesn't want to be whisked away to the land of the leprechauns, get a pot of gold, and dance all night to fiddle music? Count me in!

Go get your Irish on at Paddy O'Beach this Saturday night at 6pm at the Owensboro Convention Center! Do a jig to the sounds of Insulated and Max Headroom, an awesome 80's cover band all the way from Nashville! Advance general admission tickets at $10 and V.I.P. tickets are $25. Just click on "Paddy O'Beach" on the "What's Hot" bar at the top of the page!
