Well, it's finally here, my birthday! I know I've gone on and on about it, but my family still loves to make a slightly big deal of it. Since my parents were going out of town last Friday, they decided to take me out a few days early, and I didn't complain. Let's take a look at our "lupper" at Mirko.

First, my Mom attempted to take a picture of me, my sister, and my niece Zoey. I told her how to take it with my phone and she ended up taking oh, 20 shots! Here's take one:

And a better take two, I don't know why they look so stunned, frightened?

It wasn't long into the meal when Zoey zoned out. I wonder where she gets her love of gadgets from?

Empty plates, the food was yummy and no, I did not pose the forks that way. I had fettuccine alfredo and Mom had the chicken marsala. Remember I tried it on the air a couple of weeks ago when I filling in on the afternoon drive, it's so delicious!

So after our entrees, our waitress had pretty much gathered there was a birthday at the table, so she prepared a special treat. Okay, it's not pictured, but it was a lovely triamisu. My sister prepared a special treat of her own. I present, CHESS PIE!

We even left our waitress a piece. I get a little sentimental now when I think of chess pie. I had a cousin pass away about a month ago, and she loved my sister's chess pie; she requested it almost every year for Thanksgiving. I know last year for her birthday, her mother made one twice the size of the one you see here.

Here's to 39 and holding....
