The Owensboro Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting the eighth annual "Gone to the Dogs" event on August 5 at Combest Pool.  The open swim session for dogs and their owners will be from 6-8 p.m.  In case of inclement weather the event will take place on August 6 at the same time.  Dogs of all sizes are welcome; admission to the pool is $7 per dog, and the owner(s) get in FREE!

The evening will consist of prizes, giveaways, and contest including best water retrieve, fastest dog paddle, and owner/dog look alike.  Representatives from various pet supply businesses, pet resorts, pet training and kennel centers, and veterinary offices will be on hand for all your questions and needs.  Donations of a small bag of dry dog food will be accepted on behalf of the Owensboro Humane Society and the Daviess County Animal Shelter.
