We don't get mudslides around here. So I can only imagine the relentlessness of the devastation caused by such an unthinkable natural disaster.

Even in the parts of the country in which they seem to be more commonplace, I don't get that the locals still ever get used to them.

I would advise against building or moving into a home that sits on the side of a mountain in an area where it rains a lot.

Anyway, when any natural disaster takes a home, it's always great to have SOMETHING positive after the devastation.

And I'd have to say that finding the family dog in tact and healthy (if a bit dirty) certainly qualifies.
