I love Halloween! Although as I get older, I think I love the idea of Halloween rather than actively participating in it. Don't get me wrong, when I'm called upon to help out or halfway dress-up, I'm game. The thought of being scared is what I really love about Halloween. But once upon a time, I did take on the neighborhood.

This is from my first or second Halloween at our new house in Hartford. When I turned 4, we moved, so October 31st wasn't too far away. I think my first Halloween, I dressed up as Fangface, it was a short-lived Saturday morning cartoon from the late 70's. Now I think I said on the show a few nights ago that I've never dressed up as a 'Star Wars' character, well, I guess I literally stand corrected.

One observation, where is our kitchen table? It should be right where I'm standing. Well at least there was one chair. I kid, but I seriously think for some reason the table wasn't there. A bizarre Halloween prank perhaps? And yes, I used to have long very dark blond, then light brown hair up until 5th grade. At least my love of all things 'Star Wars' came to fruition on at least one Halloween night.

Get ready, this one is a doozy!

Same kitchen, add wallpaper, and a sister. My Mom spent a good hour or so braiding my hair so I could be Boy George. Yeah, I went all out with the hat, the make-up (don't laugh), and the oversized vest and shirt. My sister Hillary here is about the same age as my niece is now. I guess you could say we were both clowns that year.

Speaking of my niece, I can't wait to see her all dressed up. So far, she has been, a flower, a puppy, a pirate, and this year? A kitty cat! Have a wonderful and safe Halloween!
