If you were listening to country radio in the 90's, you were listening to the twangy pure voice of Ty Herndon music! He topped the country music charts with hits like “What Mattered Most” and “Living in a Moment.” Now he’s come full circle with a new album titled 'House on Fire' and support from one of country music’s biggest artists!

Ty Herndon has come a long way since he was a finalist on the first season of “Star Search” where we won the male-vocalist category. Then in 1995, “What Mattered Most” debuted on the country music charts and then 20 Billboard charted singles followed and more the five million albums sold. In the fall of 2014, Herndon decided to come out as gay publicly and became the first major male in country music to do so. Now, he’s back with a new outlook, new album and support from Blake Shelton!

Here's what Blake had to say when TMZ caught up with him last week and asked about Herndon's new album and if the country music community would be supportive of a gay artist.

Ty responded on his Twitter page to let Blake know how much he appreciated the support.
