Nicky Hayden passed away Monday following a tragic cycling accident last week in Italy.  He was the MotoGP World Champion in 2006 and is a native of Owensboro, Kentucky.

Everyone is encouraged to attend the special ceremony scheduled for 7:45pm, Friday, May 26th.  The featured guest speaker will be Army Armstrong.  Armstrong, of course, is an internationally renowned motorsports announcer and longtime friend and follower of Nicky Hayden.

The celebration of Nicky's life and career will also include a balloon release.  According to Friday After Five Executive Director Theresa Thomas, “We plan on releasing a huge group of helium balloons featuring his racing number, 69 as a way to celebrate his life and giving his hometown fans a way to say goodbye."

Friday After 5’s Nicky Hayden tribute will take place on the Jagoe Patio Stage on the BB&T Plaza at the RiverPark Center in downtown Owensboro.  The special ceremony and tribute are scheduled to begin at approximately 7:45 pm.
