Fully Recovered Louisville Guard Kevin Ware Expected to Be in Uniform for Cards’ Season Opener

Some of us may still have that particular moment engraved on our brains. It's that moment when Louisville guard Kevin Ware landed awkwardly during an Elite Eight matchup with Duke in the 2013 NCAA Tournament and his legged snapped like a twig.

Nasty stuff.

It looked like the kid's career was over. But what do I know? I talked to experts in the field of orthopedics and read commentary from physicians and they all agreed that he would not only heal, but that Kevin Ware would return to the floor at some point healthier than ever.

Let's see if they're right when Ware dons a Louisville Cardinals uniform for the November 9th season opener against Charleston.

Of course we may not get to. Coach Rick Pitino says that while Ware may be wearing that uniform, it remains to be seen if he will actually play. Be that as it may, it looks as if the kid is ahead of schedule in his recovery and I, for one, wish him success this season and in the future.
