I really feel for these singers who have to take vocal rest. Sometimes when I have been on the air for several hours, the old voice box starts to shut down.

And, as I mentioned on the air earlier this week so many country artists hurt their vocal cords performing so frequently. Miranda Lambert had to postpone several shows this weekend. And, now, according to Taste of Country's Alanna Conaway, Gloriana‘s lead vocalist Tom Gossin will need to keep quiet for a few days after being placed on vocal rest. The band shared the news broke late last night (July 11) through the band’s social media sites. As a result, Gloriana has been forced to postpone concerts scheduled for this weekend in Florida.

“I’m so disappointed about needing to postpone our FL shows this week,” Gossin wrote on the band’s Facebook page Wednesday night. “But I’m under Dr.’s orders. My voice needs some repair from singing so much for all these years! Trying not to end up needing surgery. Hang in there, and I’ll see you all for the make-up dates! Love y’all”

Thankfully, rescheduled dates have already been announced for the shows in Cape Coral, Fla. and Bradenton, Fla. Gloriana will return to the Sunshine State to perform on Nov. 7 and Nov. 10, respectively. Previously purchased tickets for these shows will be honored at the door come fall.

Gossin isn’t the only country singer who has been told to hush up. Miranda Lambert recently had to cancel two weeks of shows at the request of her own doctor. Our best wishes to them both for a speedy recovery!

We want them to be at their best for the Big O Music Fest August 18th at Reid's.
