The end of the leaf picking up season is approaching and the city has decided to begin picking up limbs now. Good idea because I trimmed my crape myrtles three weeks ago and had to stash them alongside the house. If you have some you want to rid yourself of, here's the scoop.Limb collection started Friday. Owensboro Sanitation Department folks began converting most of the leaf vacuum collection equipment back to limb and yard waste collections. Yay!

Here's the official release "Unscheduled leaf vacuum collection will continue through Friday, February 14.  In order to have loose leaves collected before the end of the season, customers must phone the City Action Line at 687-4444 by Thursday, February 13.  Calls for loose-leaf collection received after February 14th cannot be honored as crews will be conducting chipping operations and will begin cleaning and storing leaf collection equipment".

After February 15th your leaves will be picked up but you will need to bag them and place them with your trash on your regular pickup day.
