Governor Steve Beshear has directed that flags be at half-staff at all state office buildings in Kentucky on Wednesday, November 11th. The order is in honor of Richmond Police Officer Daniel Ellis, killed on November 6th, in the line of duty. He died less than two days after he was shot while searching an apartment for a robbery suspect.

Ellis was a seven year veteran and is survived by his wife, Katie, and four year old son, Luke.

Gov. Beshear also encourages individuals, businesses, organizations and other government agencies to join in this tribute.
