Tanya Tucker (pictured with Garth Brooks) turns 55 today. She burst on the scene in 1972 at 13 with "Delta Dawn". Many hits followed including the controversial "Would You Lay With Me In a Field of Stone", a David Allen Coe-composed tune released when Tanya was only 15. As we watched Tanya grow up, she had her "Miley" moments with romantic flings with Merle Haggard, Andy Gibb, Don Johnson and Glen Campbell.I met Tanya on several occasions. The first around 1976 in Louisville, again in 1981 in Kansas City and then in the early 90's she appeared on two occasions on my syndicated radio show, Nashville Live. I thought her reality TV show was funny. Did you ever see it?  It really captured her "saucy" personality.

I was at one of her birthday parties but don't recall the exact year when her father, Beau, gave her a Shetland pony. On top of that, it was in a suite at the Opryland Hotel and they brought the horse into the hotel!
