I am not--nor have I ever been--a Glee watcher, but you don't have to be to know how sad the Cory Monteith story is and how much sadder it has become now that an autopsy has revealed how the 31-year-old actor died.

Toxicological analysis, according to the British Columbia Coroners Service, revealed a mixture of heroin and alcohol in Monteith's system and that death came as a result of a "sad and tragic accident."

To be honest, I wasn't very familiar with Cory Monteith other than knowing he was a star on Glee, so I was guessing along with many others as to why he died.

But I did read an interesting piece about actress Kristen Johnston who weighed in soon after reports of Monteith's death surfaced. She was quick to cite his addiction as the likely cause of his death, in her opinion. As a recovering addict herself, she knows what can happen if you don't do something about it.

And, sadly, that's exactly what did happen to Cory Monteith.
