Maybe "Bourbon in Kentucky," the first single from Dierks Bentley's new album Riser--out Tuesday--was just too dark and too moody for a mass audience. It didn't even crack the Top 40, a first for Bentley.

But, according to the accounts I've read, Riser is a darker album for Dierks, his most personal to date.

So maybe it makes sense that, while "Bourbon in Kentucky" didn't set the airwaves on fire, it did mean enough to Dierks to have this video produced.

And it is a whopper. I don't recall ever seeing a country video as dark as this one.
