April is Stress Awareness Month so WalletHub conducted an in-depth analysis to determine which states are 2017's most and least stressed. I was surprised where Kentucky landed.

So many things can cause us to be stressed out, which can be so unhealthy. Whether it’s work related, health, government or money issues, many things can keep us up at night and cause additional stress. In Kentucky, job security and health are very big issues and ranks our state as 5th Most Stressed State according to the analysis provided from WalletHub. It looks like you'll need to move North to be less stressed as Minnesota, North Dakota and Iowa ranked as the Least Stressed States.

Stress Levels in Kentucky (1=Most Stressed, 25=Avg.):

  • 22nd – Avg. Hours Worked per Week
  • 2nd – Share of Adults Getting Adequate Sleep
  • 7th – % of Adults in Fair/Poor Health
  • 1st – Job Security
  • 10th – Median Credit Score
  • 5th – % of Population Living Below Poverty Line
  • 8th – Divorce Rate
  • 15th – Psychologists per Capita
