I entered the world of mobile communication in 2004 when I purchased by first ever cell phone. It was dull, gray, and heavy. And I felt like a million bucks. Yep...nerd speaking.

And in the intervening 12 years, I've had five more mobile phones including my current one, which had always proven to be the toughest of the bunch.

It's an LG-G4 and I love it. I'm an Android guy.

Yes, it's been tough as nails, but a couple of weeks ago, it simply was no match for my nephew who, when I drove him home one night, got the phone cord wrapped around his leg as he was exiting my car.

It bounced off every hard surface it could find until it actually made its way OUT of the car where it did a sweet little pendulum swing up underneath the vehicle where it made contact with the chassis.

Next thing you know I have a small crack at the based of the phone. I thought, "Fine, I can live with it."

And I still can, but I've discovered that every subsequent minor ding has turned that tiny crack into something akin to the San Andreas fault.

Yep, the rest of the damage is all on me. But it still works just fine, so we're good. But as you can see, I have indeed ruined my clean undamaged phone record.
