First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes ... well, you know! Kelly Clarkson is pregnant, having officially confirmed the news that many were expecting to come soon.

The superstar tweeted the exciting announcement on Tuesday evening (Nov. 19):

Just last week, Clarkson appeared on 'The Tonight Show,' where she coyly dodged questions about a potential baby on the way from host Jay Leno. “I never wanted kids before, but now I want, like, five," she revealed on Nov. 11. “Practice makes perfect! We’re trying, trying, trying … like rabbits!"

Practice obviously does make perfect. Clarkson, 31, and new husband Brandon Blackstock are expecting their first child together following an intimate Tennessee wedding ceremony on Oct. 20.

Blackstock is the stepson of country icon Reba McEntire. He has two kids, aged 12 and 6 respectively, from a previous relationship, and while Clarkson says she loves being a stepmother, she has not been shy about her plans to have a baby of her own.

“Savannah, the 12-year-old, is like, ‘I want a little sister,’” the star revealed in September. “She’s so excited.”

A due date for the mini country singer-to-be has not yet been revealed. Our best wishes to the whole family!
