It’s been a whirlwind, albeit joyous, couple of weeks for Kelly Clarkson, both personally and professionally, having gotten married to Brandon Blackstock and releasing her new holiday album ‘Wrapped in Red.’ However, the singer is now dealing with a major blow, as her beloved dog Joplin has died.

Clarkson tweeted a photo of her sweet pooch, espousing her love for Joplin, who was an adorable black pup with curly fur. She even referred to him as her “best friend” and noted that he was a survivor his whole life long.

It’s enough to break your heart.

Animal lover Clarkson rescued Joplin and freaked out when she thought the dog ran away on New Year’s Eve two years ago.

Luckily, Clarkson and her canine were reunited despite that scare, and at the time, she said that her dogs were like her kids, which is interesting, since there are all the pregnancy rumors currently flying around regarding the singer.

Pets are like family and losing a loved one is no doubt devastating to Clarkson and her family.
