Kentucky Kingdom was once a ghost town. When I'd go to the state fair or just drive by on the interstate, what an eerie feeling I'd get looking at those coasters that were just standing there.

And, really, there's nothing creepier, to me, than an empty amusement park.

But Kentucky Kingdom is up and running again and planning on converting one of those old "roller ghosters" into something new.

I'm talking about the old Twisted Twins wood/steel dueling coasters that will soon become the Storm Chaser.

The conversion should be complete by the time the Louisville park opens in April.

The Storm Chaser will be a little taller and a little slower than the Twisted Twins, according to the Los Angeles Times, and is being renovated at a cost of $10 million.
