Nearly a half-ton of marijuana was discovered earlier this week in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.

According to the Kentucky State Police, officers arrested two illegal immigrants in Spencer County Monday night, after authorities found a stockpile of marijuana valued at about $600,000 on the property.

Police arrested 25-year-old Hector Montes Serrano and 22-year-old Gabael Jiminez Suarez immediately following a raid of a stash house located in Taylorsville. Serrano attempted to flee, but authorities unleashed a nark dog in order to bring him down, according to reports.

Both Suarez and Serrano were charged with possession with the intent to distribute marijuana and unlawful possession of a firearm.

They are expected to go before a judge sometime this week.
