So, I'm just now learning that the Kentucky Water Division and the Department for Public Health is strongly advising against anyone TOUCHING Ohio River water.

No problem. I wouldn't anyway.

But this kind of warning from a couple of state departments is more than just a little alarming.

The nature of the distress call, for lack of a better term, is the amount of algae in the water, those blue-green streaks you might see. I've seen them and wondered what that was. Of course, I was up the river a bit and, in fact, the advisory begins at the West Virginia line and ends at the Cannelton Locks and Dam.

Anyway, avoid touching Ohio River water until the advisory is lifted and, by all means, don't get any of the stuff in your mouth!
