Breaking news this morning from Ohio County.  Kentucky State Police are conducting an investigation into the death of 47-year-old Daniel Easterling.  Authorities say he was shot last night during an altercation.  Here's the latest.

Kentucky State Police Detectives are still actively investigating the death of an Ohio County man in the 700 block of Narrows Road in Fordsville (Ohio County).

The preliminary investigation suggests that Daniel R. Easterling (47) of Rockport KY, was at the residence of James D. Rogers (58) on Narrows Road and engaged in a physical and verbal altercation with Rogers’ daughter. Rogers attempted to intervene the assault to no avail. Rogers retrieved a .380 handgun and shot once striking Easterling. Easterling was pronounced dead on scene by the Ohio County Coroner.

An autopsy is scheduled today in Louisville.

 The investigation is on-going by the Kentucky State Police. KSP was assisted by the Ohio County Sheriff’s Department, Ohio County EMS and the Ohio County Coroner’s Office.
