Kentucky Wildcats Begin Exhibition Play Tonight [VIDEO]
I’m getting kind of excited. As you may know, I’m a HUGE college basketball fan. And if it’s a team in Kentucky they have my support. Of course, I love my Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. And, trust me, I’m well aware that it’s practically “impossible” to support both UK and Louisville, but somehow I manage. But it’s November and the season is here. And tonight, the Wildcats begin exhibition play against Transylvania. Let’s hope the ‘Cats amp it up and really give us a preview of things to come when the two-game exhibition season comes to an end and the games start counting. Head coach John Calipari wasn’t particularly pleased with what he saw in the recent Blue-White Game. I’d like to chalk it up to the players not taking it very seriously because it was just a scrimmage. And there was a lot in that game the fans enjoyed–sophomore Terrence Jones, for example, lit it up for 52 points. But Coach Cal wanted to see real play–good defense, offensive sets, that sort of thing–not a pick-up game. And the Transylvania Pioneers–despite the fact that this IS an exhibition game–are going to want to come into Rupp Arena and win the game. I mean, after all, the Transy-UK series is tied at 7 wins apiece. Of course, the last time these two teams played was more than 100 years ago, but a series record is a series record. (100 years?!? Transy’s IN Lexington! But, anyway…) The Pioneers will have their game faces on. The ‘Cats will need to do the same. College basketball is here! I love it!
