I did not watch Kentucky's 56-46 win over Columbia Wednesday night. I heard it. And, like many of you, I kept wondering when the 'Cats were going to flip that switch they've been flipping.

It always happens in the second half.

But it doesn't usually happen 7 minutes into the second half. Nonetheless, there it was, at about the 13 minute mark. That switch.

It didn't turn all the way on, but it was flipped just enough to maintain Kentucky's margin-of-victory streak. The 'Cats are now 10-0 and have won all ten games by double digits.

But that's not really the good news for Big Blue Nation, although it isn't bad news.

The good news is that Kentucky played without two important cogs in this blue team/white team machine (I've stopped using the "p word"), gave in to the pace of its opponent, shot terribly from 3-point range, had an overall lower shooting percentage than the Lions, and still won the game comfortably.

(Oh, and it was Tyler Ulis and Devon Booker who weren't on the floor as they were/are nursing minor injuries.)

Kentucky won because it only committed 4 turnovers--that's terrific--and outrebounded Columbia by 13. Plus, the Lions coughed it up 10 times (not horrible, mind you, but enough) which allowed for easy points for UK.

For an assessment of the team's performance, take a look at what head coach John Calipari had to say in the post-game press conference:
