Evansville native and former Louisville standout Kyle Kuric had emergency surgery last November to remove brain tumors that were discovered just two days prior. This past weekend, Kuric made his return to the NBA Summer League as a member of the Phoenix Suns squad. Wow.

In 2012, Kuric went undrafted and he went on to play in the summer league with the Oklahoma City Thunder. When he remained unsigned, he decided to go and pursue pro basketball in Europe playing first for CB Estudiantes and at the time of his surgery last year, he was playing for CB Gran Canaria in Spain. In March, Kuric returned to the court in Spain after three brain surgeries. You read that right, less than five months after three brain surgeries, Kuric was playing basketball again.

Last month, Kuric was invited by the Phoenix Suns to join their summer league squad alongside Kentucky guards Devin Booker and rookie Tyler Ulis. He scored 9 points on three 3's in Friday's win over the Portland Trail Blazers and he scored 7 points Sunday night in the Suns' win over Boston. The Suns will play Miami Tuesday night. The game is at 5:30pm local time and can be seen on NBA TV.
