Ah, college football. It means fall is right around the corner. In Kentucky, it means BASKETBALL is right around the corner.

Don't get me wrong. I love college football, but basketball is my favorite, and I've already purchased two college basketball preview magazines.

So, yeah, I'm kinda pumped.

A few weeks ago, Kentucky released its 2016-17 schedule and it is no slouch.

Yesterday, the University of Louisville announced its upcoming basketball schedule and, let me tell you, the Cardinals will not have it easy.

And I doubt they'd want it that way.

First of all, U of L is in the ultra-stacked ACC, a conference that COULD send 11 teams to the 2017 NCAA Tournament next March.

The Cards' conference slate alone will feature a road game against 2016 national runner-up North Carolina; two games against Notre Dame, a team that reached the last two Elite Eights; a home game against Duke; two games against 2016 Final Four participant Syracuse; and a road game against another 2016 Elite Eight team, Virginia.

Their non-conference opponents include Kentucky, of course, but also Indiana, Purdue (in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge), and either Wichita State or LSU in round two of the Battle 4 Atlantis in the Bahamas.

Plus, to kick things off on November 3rd, Louisville will play an exhibition game against Kentucky Wesleyan and will open the regular season eight days later against Evansville.

It's gonna be fun.
