I can't honestly remember the last time a song's VIDEO improved the actual song's likeability for me. And maybe it's never happened. I'd have to think long and hard on it.

But the first time I heard Miranda Lambert's "Vice"--the first release from her upcoming (Insert As Yet Unrevealed Title Here) album--I wasn't really sold.

It's pace was lethargic. And I say "was" because I now interpret it as being "weary."

And that's really the perfect tone to set for what turns out to be a brilliantly written song about all the regrettable stuff that gets someone to where they are right now.

"Vice," by the way, was written by Miranda with her good friends Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne and its accompanying video is SENSATIONAL.

The opening shot is a miraculous match-up with the scratchy record that leads us into the song.

And then a stark and unsettling visual takes it from there.
