Over the years, as WBKR has become more and more involved with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, I never cease to be amazed at the overwhelming and generous involvement with this cause by country stars. Within the last week we've seen John Rich move heaven and earth to win Celebrity Apprentice so he can donate as much money as possible to St. Jude's. And Brad Paisley's new CD contains the song "One of Those Lives" about a family whose child is a St. Jude's patient. And, now I've learned of a new organization that lets musicians--all musicians-- give the one thing that no one else can--their God-given talents.

Musicians On Call sets up mini-concerts at the bedsides of patients who are unable to leave their beds or facilities to attend shows. Listen, I've seen it. Nothing brings a smile to the face of a patient with a life-threatening illness quicker than one of their favorite singers visiting with them or playing for them. MOC organizes fundraisers like the upcoming Country Weekly Fashion Show and Concert in Nashville on June 7th. They raise money through  charity auctions and partnerships with business organizations like Barnes & Noble College. This blows me away. It's an amazing gift from a large and diverse group of incredibly generous and talented people. Talk about bedside manner.
