Monday was supposed to be zoo day. Carsyn and I had gone to Nashville Sunday for her first ever Titans game and Monday was a continuation of our Mommy/Daughter get-away. Turns out, some jerk (sorry, but that's how I feel) didn't feel the same way about us getting to pet the kangaroos. I'm still bitter about that.

While leaving the hotel early Monday morning to head to the zoo, I noticed some broken glass outside Carsyn's seat. Turns out, the glass was from my car window.

After second glance, I realized not one, but BOTH back windows had been busted out! BOTH! And, they tried to bust out the front passenger window, but it wouldn't bust, just cracked like crazy. Who knows what they were looking for, cash or electronics, I guess... neither of which I had inside the car. Although they didn't take any of the shopping bags we'd just acquired from Opry Mills, they did go thru my glovebox and center console. They also didn't take a check for $125, a $120 gift card to Kirkland's and a $25 gift card to Wal-Mart. Not to mention that my spare set of car keys were in the car, they could've taken it! Ugh... it could have been much worse, but still frustrating to say the least.

I have to give a big shout out to my girl Lauren with my insurance company... Daniel Dick State Farm. I've never needed immediate help like that and they had everything set up with the glass company to fix my windows BEFORE the Nashville Metro Police even arrived. That made the process easier to handle, for sure. Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there... at a hotel, in Nashville!

So, long story short... my car got broken into, Carsyn's zoo day was ruined and to be honest, I kind of felt violated. But, we're ok and nothing major seems to be missing.Plus, we actually made a good day out of it. We just walked (about 8 miles total, ha) around Nashville's Midtown, checking out all kinds of fun stuff.

I hate a thief... especially on "pet a kangaroo" day.
