When I was a kid in church, and the preacher said "every head bowed, every eye closed" that's exactly what you did and you didn't budge until after "Amen." Seriously, if anything had given me reason to laugh during a prayer and I actually did it, something hard and flat would land on my rear end. (Word to the wise: you can't hide a hymnal on a church pew.) But had I been in attendance at Nashville Superspeedway last Saturday and heard Pastor Joe Nelms' fire-breathing invocation, all bets would have been off. Of course, not everyone was happy about it; I guess there's always gotta be a wet blanket. But this is classic stuff that will likely long be remembered.
