I think the FX Network's Justified was a good show. And I say this despite the fact that I stopped watching after season two. I just wasn't as interested in the story lines from the third season on. But that wasn't my big complaint about the series.

No, I didn't like the fact that Justified, although set in eastern Kentucky, wasn't filmed there. And, honestly, it was easy to tell.

Eastern Kentucky mountains aren't that tall or that dry. Pretty much a dead giveaway.

Now, the show gets credit for name-dropping real Kentucky cities and for having extras in the backgrounds of scenes where UK or U of L gear. They got that right.

But, yeah, I kind of wished they'd filmed here in the Commonwealth.

That is also my hope for two new dramas currently in development at NBC and Fox.

The NBC drama already has a name. It will be called The Bourbon Kings and will focus on a elite Kentucky brewing family.

It's based on a novel by native New Englander J.R. Ward who now calls Kentucky her home.

The Bradfords, the family at the center of the NBC saga, made their fortune in the bourbon industry. The family's patriarch has a public breakdown, so the family has to put all its drama aside to come together to keep the family together amid details of the man's sordid past coming to light.

I think it sounds like those sweeping prime time soap operas of the 1980s like Dallas and Falcon Crest.

But maybe that subtle nostalgic aspect will help it become a big hit.

The Fox drama remains untitled.
