The University of Kentucky basketball team is becoming the Great American Melting Pot. Within the week, Coach John Calipari hopes to have 6'10" New Zealand forward Tai Wynyard on the team and playing. HOPES to have.

Wynyard will join teammates from Australia (Isaac Humphries), Haiti (Skal Labissiere), and Canada (Mychal Mulder, Jamal Murray).

But as far as playing, nothing is guaranteed. Calipari as much as said so in a recent press conference:

So we'll see. Certainly another frontcourt presence isn't unwelcome during the development of freshman forward Labissiere.

But Wynyard is also very young and who knows how much HE needs to develop?

But he is excited about being here as he stated in a recent interview with 3News in New Zealand.

I'm sensing there are quite a few players who will be around next year to join an extraordinary class that's coming in for 2016-2017.

Should be interesting.
