What a terrible week this has been for country music news. I was out running some errands this morning when I heard about the passing of Mr. George Jones.

I can't tell you how many countless memories I have of him and his music. When we reported last week about him being admitted to the hospital for a routine observation, I just never thought his death would be so imminent.

I had the pleasure of meeting George Jones in my early 20s, when I was working for 99.5 The Wolf out of Dallas, Texas. He was there to support us and our annual St. Jude Hunt for the Cure. I had the privilege of asking him a few questions -- and he didn't hesitate when I asked him to give me a Wolf Howl!

I left the broadcast that day with an autographed t-shirt from the Possum -- and a memory of meeting that legendary man that will last a lifetime.

Rest in peace, Mr. Jones. And thank you for what you gave to country music.

A fan forever,
Jeremy
