Former Ohio County basketball player Logan Baumann has received a promotion on the University of Louisville's coaching staff as a temporary assistant coach.

In wake of the FBI investigation into the university and several others across the country, David Padgett was named Interim Head Coach after the departure of Rick Pitino.

Baumann walked on and played for the Cardinals his freshman year and he was a part of the 2013 National Championship team. He went back to serving as a student manager and an assistant video coordinator. This past season, he was director of video operations for the team.

It's not certain how long Baumann will be an assistant coach as Padgett's interim status is only for six months.

Baumann is a 2015 U of L graduate. He was the Third Region Player of the Year in 2012 his senior year at Ohio County High School where he scored over 1,000 career points.
